23 days into 2025!
💪
We’re only 23 days into 2025, but it feels like 60 days have already passed.
I expected to see better results from my efforts with Connecting Dots by now, but the process has been incredibly humbling. I can’t move any faster at this point, but maybe it’s time to build that AI agent to speed things up!
Personal Reflections
I’ve been working to get back into the flow. In 2022, I made a bold decision to move back to Africa and spent three fluid months making it happen. I dove into countless meetings and opportunities I hadn’t anticipated. Now, three years later, I feel like I’ve lost that flow and need to rediscover it. I’m reconnecting intentionally—spending time with friends, reaching out to old and distant ones, and forming new bonds.
How Connecting Dots is Going
It’s been 44 days since I started the business, and I’ve been pivoting and learning constantly. Recently, I decided to expand beyond students aged 8–19 for the workshops. I’ve also shifted my marketing strategy. Most customers prefer WhatsApp over social media, and convincing paying clients has become a one-on-one interaction game. Posts don’t cut it.
But moments like these remind me why it’s all worth it:
I spoke to a student from the December workshops, and he shared that:
He’s created four more storybooks for himself.
He taught his 12-year-old cousin how to do the entire process.
He’s decided to start a business making action figures using 3D printing.
He’s just nine years old. If the workshop inspired just this one child to shift their mindset and realize they can create, it was worth it.
This could change his life trajectory altogether!

Discovering The Education World
A recent report on the Future of Jobs revealed that:
86% of employers expect AI to transform their businesses by 2030.
39% of current skills will be outdated by 2030.
While these shifts will directly impact the Western world, Kenya faces unique challenges. With automation, foreign companies may no longer rely on cheaper labour here. International firms won’t hire for white-collar roles unless candidates are AI-equipped.
Meanwhile, our education system is still figuring out how to implement its updated curriculum, which doesn’t include technology. Even extracurricular clubs are outdated—e.g. they’re teaching HTML when website creation no longer requires coding knowledge. And, there’s no significant effort to upskill the population; the government is more focused on the 2027 elections.
This neglect creates a gap that businesses like mine will fill in the coming years. So, yay for being ignored? I guess.
Social Happenings
National Park Outings
Despite living near the Nairobi National Park, I rarely visit but a few weeks ago, I finally went. We drove past tourists taking pictures of ostriches and some eagerly scrambling to spot a lioness through their binoculars.
Kenyans are spoiled. We didn’t chase after lions or rhinos. Instead, we just drove aimlessly, hoping to come across something interesting. And we did! We saw a hyena feasting on a fresh carcass, its face completely bloody, while vultures hovered overhead, waiting for their turn to eat. It was a great way to spend a Sunday morning!
All the movies & shows!
Gosh, I’m a sucker for a good movie/ show. Some of the most commendable ones I’ve watched are Pantheon, Wicked, Arcane, The Brothers Sun, Nobody Wants This. I’ll drop a review soon but I highly recommend watching any of these!
